Class Monitor (PAD), University of Campinas, Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing, 2014

Course Information - Class XZ

Role

I served as a Class Monitor (PAD) for this course. My work focused on supporting students outside regular class hours, assisting with the preparation of problem sets, and producing solution keys for graded assignments.

At Unicamp, PAD (Programa de Apoio Didático) is an undergraduate teaching support program in which students assist course activities under the supervision of the course professor.

Course Overview

This course covers the fundamentals of complex analysis, beginning with complex numbers and elementary complex functions and progressing to analytic functions, complex integration, power series, residues, and conformal mappings. The course emphasizes both the theoretical structure of the subject and the techniques used in problem solving.

Syllabus

Complex numbers. Functions of a complex variable. Cauchy-Riemann equations. Line integrals. Sequences and series of complex numbers. Power series. Residue theorem. Conformal mappings.

My Contributions

My main contributions to the course included:

  • holding two weekly extra-class support sessions;
  • assisting in the preparation of problem sets;
  • writing solution keys for graded exercise sets.
