VISA Information

Foreign participants should get in touch with the nearest Brazilian Consulate to find out whether a visa is required. The list of nationalities that are exempt from this requirement includes the whole of the European Union and Mercosur (see more information here). Those who do need a visa should note that a tourist visa suffices for the conference; for more information about Brazil, visit the official Brazilian Tourism website.

Arrival

Most foreign participants will arrive at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo (GRU), although it is possible to book a flight to Viracopos Airport in Campinas (VCP).

See this webpage and this one for information about the Guarulhos Airport (sometimes called Cumbica) and its services.

There is a convenient and comfortable bus, operated by Lirabus, which leaves from Guarulhos Airport directly to Campinas. The ticket for the trip should be purchased at the Airport Lirabus booth, Terminal 2 – Arrival East; the schedule is available here (“Dias Úteis” means weekdays and “Sábados, domingos e feriados” means Saturday, Sunday and holidays; “Rodoviária Campinas”, “Largo do Pará” and “Cumbica” refer to the point of departure). In Campinas there are two stops; participants should get off at the second stop, which is the Campinas City Bus Station (“Rodoviária”), where it is easy to catch a taxi.

Ridesharing service (e.g. Uber, Lyft, Cabify) is available in Campinas.
