Two Fapesp post-doctoral grants (Gauge Theory and Algebraic Geometry research group)

Pós-GraduaçãoPós-Doutorado

The Gauge Theory and Algebraic Geometry (GTAG) research group invites applications for two post-doctoral positions in Geometry at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, under the supervision of Marcos Jardim and Henrique Sá Earp. The positions are for 2 years, renewable twice for up to 4 years.

We aim at filling one of each of the following research profiles: topics related to moduli spaces in algebraic geometry, particularly vector bundles on curves, surfaces and threefolds, moduli spaces of sheaves, Bridgeland stability conditions; gauge theory, particularly instantons and monopoles in Yang-Mills theory, metrics with special holonomy, moduli spaces and related topics in geometric analysis and Riemannian geometry.

This is a research-only position, with no expected teaching or administrative duties, funded by the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) under the Thematic Project “Gauge Theory and Algebraic Geometry”. Benefits include:

monthly stipend of BRL 7,373;

additional 15% of yearly stipend for research related expenses;

start-up costs, including air travel and one extra pay;

pending approval by FAPESP, paid leave of up to 1 year to visit any research institution in the world;

maternity and paternity leave as described on http://www.fapesp.br/270.

The starting date is flexible, but should be no later than March 2021.

Applicants should send a CV and a research statement to Marcos Jardim (jardim@unicamp.br) or Henrique Sá Earp (hqsaearp@unicamp.br), along with written materials like publications and preprints. Candidates should arrange for at least one letter of recommendation to be sent directly to the same e-mail address.
