Campinas is a Brazilian municipality in São Paulo State. Is located about 100km from São Paulo city and host one of the most important public university of Brasil, the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Unicamp is consistently ranked among the top universities in Brazil and Latin America and is responsible for around 15% of Brazilian research. UNICAMP main campus is located in the Barão Geraldo district, a suburban area 12 kilometers from the center of Campinas. The Institute of Mathematics, Estatistic and Cientific Computation (IMECC) is inside unicamp and has a very good infra-structure.

    About

The year 2020 marks the twenty-fourth edition of the Brazilian School of Probability (EBP). The EBP is an international event which has been running since 1997. From its start it has been a meeting point for high level researchers and an excellent opportunity for young students to learn about different aspects of probability theory from world leading experts. It has therefore contributed to the growth of our area in the country.

This years edition will be special. It will be preceded by the first week of the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Singular Stochastic Partial Differential Equations and Their Applications (SPSAS), and it will happen during its second week. The first week of the SPSAS will in two mini courses lay the foundations for the two courses offered at the EBP. Moreover, as in previous editions the program will be enriched by invited talks, short talks and poster sessions.

    Past Editions

    Short history...

The first edition of EBP was held in Rio de Janeiro, back in 1997 (see the photo of the event at the end of this page). Since then, it has been organized annually, by IMPA, ICMC-USP, IME-USP, IM-UFRJ, IMECC-UNICAMP, UFMG, UFPE and PUC-RIO, receiving support of several scientific societies and research agencies.

It is now a traditional international event on probability theory and stochastic processes, and has considerably contributed to the strengthenning of these research areas in Brazil and South America.

The reader will find below the list of the 23 previous editions. Various of these editions gave birth to special volumes that we list first.
